Formlabs Clear Resin V5 in the 1.000 ml tank variant is a state-of-the-art, transparent photopolymer formulation specifically engineered for the Form 4 printer. This material combines the aesthetic benefits of a glass-like finish with improved mechanical properties that are critical for professional applications. Once cured, the resin delivers high surface smoothness and excellent detail resolution, making it ideal for simulating liquids, optical prototypes, and intricate mechanisms. Chemically, V5 offers improved resistance to yellowing and better moisture stability compared to previous iterations. The hardness and stiffness have been optimized to provide a solid feel without being overly brittle. The resin cures rapidly and precisely, with post-curing in a UV chamber being mandatory to achieve maximum mechanical strength and final clarity. Post-processing requires washing in isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Due to its clarity, it is particularly popular in dentistry for denture demonstrations, in jewelry for designing clear stones or settings, and in engineering for enclosures where internal components must remain visible. Safety precautions must be strictly observed: wear nitrile gloves and safety glasses during handling, and work in a well-ventilated area, as the resin can cause skin and eye irritation. Direct skin contact must be avoided.
